This year’s upcoming Call of Duty 2024, which is believed to be named Black Ops Gulf War, is expected to release this October. With anticipation growing for the new installment, prominent leakers have been constantly looking for anything new to share.

As a result of this, leaks for Black Ops Gulf War have been coming thick and fast. Just last week, one prominent leaker on X, shared that Black Ops Gulf War is expected to reintroduce features from Black Ops 4. Black Ops 4 had a lot of controversial elements to it’s release, including becoming the first Call of Duty release to lack a singleplayer campaign.

However, it’s a controversial perk from the Modern Warfare series that may be returning, according to leaker and dataminer Vondyispog on X.

In vondyispog’s expansive over 40 tweet thread on X, the dataminer laid out several discoveries he has managed to find in the upcoming 2024 CoD. With an ample amount of the thread dedicated to weapons, equipment, field upgrades and score streaks, it’s the potential reintroduction of Last Stand in the perks that is most surprising.

Last featured in the Activision developed Modern Warfare 2, after being originally introduced in the first Modern Warfare game, Last Stand has always been an incredibly divisive perk among CoD players. Historically, when a player has the Last Stand perk enabled, they would enter a downed state before death, allowing them to deal additional damage with their secondary weapon before finally being eliminated.

A crucial change however, comes in the addition of a self revive feature. This suggests that the new Last Stand will take some inspiration from Call of Duty Warzone, in which if you pick up a self revive kit, you can pick yourself up from a downed state before death.

It seems therefore that unlike in past iterations of the perk, you will likely be able in Gulf War to use Last Stand to deal additional damage before death and then revive yourself. If given enough time to enact a self revive, this will allow you to get right back in the fight without any team assistance nor the need of any special Self Revive equipment.

From the leaks we’ve seen, it certainly appears that the upcoming 2024 Call of Duty is looking to be an extremely interesting installment and we’re very excited to keep bringing you any updates as they come.
