One of the major additions to Overwatch 2 Season 10 is the new playable hero, “Venture.” Venture is a close to mid range DPS unit with very unique abilities. The hero will be playable to all players right after the season 10 release on April 16. Thanks to the new monetization system all of the new, old and upcoming heroes won’t be locked behind the Battle Pass, meaning every player gets to play them regardless of their progression of the BP.

Wrecking Ball Rework

Another interesting part of the upcoming Overwatch 2 Season 10 update is the rework of Wrecking Ball. In a recent blog post, Overwatch 2’s game director Aaron Keller revealed the changes coming to the tank hero.

While nearly every aspect of Wrecking Ball is being adjusted to add some extra power, the likely most effective change comes in the adaptive shields. Keller stated, “Now after using Adaptive Shields, you can reactivate the ability to transfer up to 300 overhealth to nearby allies, capped at 75 overhealth per ally.” Which will make diving with Wrecking Ball even more effective when combined with DPS allies.

New Mythic Shop

Mythic Shop in OW2

From the beginning of Overwatch 2 Season 10, you will be able to purchase any mythic skin as well as it’s customization from the new “Mythic Shop” addition. These purchases will require a new currency, known as “Mythic Prisms”, which can be earned in the premium battle pass.

The Mythic Shop will feature all of the skins from Seasons 1 through 7, with other seasonal skins becoming available in the shop 2 seasons after they debut.

New ‘Mirrorwatch’ Event Mode

New Mercy Mythic Skin

Launching in Overwatch 2’s new season is the “Mirrorwatch” event mode. Mirrorwatch inverts the role of the heroes and villains in Overwatch 2.

More than just changing the skins of the heroes and villains however, Mirrorwatch also gives each of the playable characters new abilities to match their new roles in the mode. This includes such changes as an evil version of Mercy firing projectiles from her Caduceus Staff. As well, a good version of Doomfist, that uses Reinhardt’s shield to protect both himself and teammates.

New Pride Event

It’s expected for this to feature new Pride cosmetics, learn more about the heroes of Overwatch, including the new addition hero “Venture”, who is confirmed as non-binary, and likely see the return of the Pride Parade Midtown map.

New Game Mode – Clash

A new game mode is also going to be available for test in the Overwatch 2 season 10. The new game mode titled “Clash”, will feature 5 capture points, placed in a straight line on a mirrored map. Two teams of 5 will compete against each other to capture and control all five points or reach the round score limit to win the game. This game mode will feature all new Hanaoka map similar to the retired Hanamura map.

New Monetization System

Season 10 of Overwatch 2 features new changes to the monetization system. Players will now finally be able to earn Overwatch Coins through the free battle pass, rather than having to complete weekly challenges for only 60 coins a week. Blizzard has announced that 600 Overwatch Coins will be available in the Season 10 Premium Battle Pass.
